Officials have stated that there will be no change in guard ceremony between January 14th and 28 because of rehearsals for Republic Day parade and Beating Retreat ceremonies.
The weekly ceremony of the changing of guard, a military tradition, is held each week to give new President’s Guards the opportunity to assume control.
“The change-of-guard ceremony will not occur between January 14th-20th, 2023 (i.e. The Rashtrapati Bhavna issued a statement stating that January 14, 21 and 28 will not be the time for the change of guard ceremony due to rehearsals for the Republic Day parade or the Beating Retreat ceremony.
