MediaTek, a chip maker well-known, has announced a new Dimensity-8200 chip specifically for premium 5G smartphones.
The new MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset is expected to offer flagship-level connectivity, gaming, multimedia and imaging experiences, according to the company in a statement.
It is equipped with an octacore central processing unit, (CPU) that has four Arm Cortex A78 cores, operating at up 3.1 GHz. A powerful Mali G610 graphics engine also makes it more efficient across different applications.
MediaTek’s HyperEngine6.0 gaming technology is utilized in the chipset to improve gaming performance. This allows users to enjoy smooth high framerate gaming without any connection drops, FPSjitter, or gameplay hiccups.
MediaTek’s Intelligent Display Sync technology 2.0 makes it possible to enjoy smoother viewing. This technology automatically adjusts display refresh rate according to the game framerate.
“The MediaTek Dimensity8200 will enhance gaming experience on premium 5-G smartphones and will deliver smoother gameplay, higher framerates and impressive graphics with seamless connectivity,” stated CH Chen (Deputy General Manager, MediaTek Wireless Communications Business Unit).
Chen stated that “plus, the Dimensity8200’s power efficiency enhancements ensure consumers don’t have to compromise battery life to enjoy super-high performance.”
The new chip supports 320MP images and can record high-quality HDR (highly dynamic range) video at 14 bit with up three cameras simultaneously.
The chipset supports tri-band Wi Fi 6E, which allows for faster wireless connectivity.
MediaTek stated that the Dimensity-8200 chip will be launched in the global market later this month.
