Chinese President Xi praises PLA’s model border battalion in Tibet

Chinese President Xi Jinping has adulated a line watch regiment in Tibet, which imparts limit to the Indian territory of Arunachal Pradesh, saying its soldiers have worked effectively in the beyond five years, official media here announced.

Mr. Xi visited Nyingchi, the Tibetan border town near Arunachal Pradesh in July, turning into the primary Chinese President to visit the remote line regions in Tibet.

“President Xi composes back to a level positioned line monitor model legion, saying they have worked really hard in the beyond five years and empowering them to make new commitments to the Party and individuals,” the state-run Global Times covered Monday.

The model force is under the Xizang (the Chinese name for Tibet) Military Command of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), it said.

In 2016, Mr. Xi presented extraordinary distinctions on a PLA military regiment posted in Tibet for its “exceptional execution in protecting boundaries”.

Mr. Xi, who heads the Central Military Commission (CMC) – the general order authority of the PLA, marked requests to give privileged titles for the force in 2016.

“Troop 77656 is currently named as a ‘model level unit’ for its remarkable presentation in defending boundaries, guaranteeing security, and aiding catastrophe help,” the state-run Xinhua news organization had said in a report in August 2016.

The model level regiment is purportedly one of the six brigades working under the Tibet Military Area Command.

China claims Arunachal Pradesh as a component of South Tibet, which is solidly dismissed by India. The India-China line question covers the 3,488-km Line of Actual Control (LAC).
